just how overpowered spirit spam is
Well, i was in tombs in a spirit spam group, i despise spirit spam but i just wanted to test it out. This spirit group was mostly under rank 3, our caller sucked, and we had 2 monks, and guess what, our first map was in underworld and we were facing the guild called OW which has a pretty nice win/loss rate and are ranked in the 30's. Well, we ended up flawlessing them, that is how overpowered spirit spam is, a bunch of noobs winning a ranked 30 guild.

actually, spirit spamming is pretty lame. i got together with a few rangers last night and just 4 of us were doing it in the random arena. we actually won a match doing it. but then we were up against idiot savants[iQ] and they were rude to us.. i have screens of it, maybe i'll put them up.

Lol.
Spirit spam is the nickname given to the strategy of using certain ranger "Spirits" (Nature rituals) over and over and over again.
Annoying/successful ones include fertile season, symbiosis, and nature's renewal. Renewal will eliminate all Hexes and Enchantments. Symbiosis will increase the HP of a creature when enchantments are put on said creature. Fertile season adds a WHOLE lot of armor and health to all creatures. When combined, it makes the Ghostly Hero VERY hard to kill. Combine these with Winnowing, and favorable wins to give your ranger group a whole lot more damage output. Slap on Quickening zephyr to hurt spell caster's energy pool, and top it all off with frozen soil to prevent one from russurecting. It is a combination of all these spirits that makes for a REALLY annoying and very hard team to destroy when on the Hall of Heroes or anywhere for that matter.
And that is the spirit spam

its not overpowered, its just boring because it kills one half of the game while boosting the other half soo much.
And so MANY people that only know the half that gets owned whine whine whine whine whine whine and whine.
i still wonder why there still are air spike groups in the tombs. they deserve to get owned quick, not that its hard to flawless an air group anyways!

I would argue that because it "...kills one half of the game while boosting the other half...", it is overpowered.

Nah, I don't want to step into the other half fearing I still can't win. Then what do I use as excuses?

If you were in random arena then you couldn't have been up against iQ unless you won at least 10 matches and got moved to team arena. Since random arena is random the chance of facing an entire iQ team is slim to none.
I was playing in team arena last night pretty late with 2 other iQ guys and friend from another guild. We fought a spirit spam team last night on the priest map in team arena. They were putting up every spirit possible right in front of their priest in an attempt to wall that little "fort" structure in.
By the time we got to you you had a wall at least 2-3 spirits thick. So instead of playing a normal match we had to sit there and just hack at your spirits for 10 minutes. The way you played it and had it set up it came across totally as a griefer build so if we came across as rude that's why.
I think I said and I quote "Why don't you bring a real build next time." If it came across as rude I apologize but your build was pretty annoying and didn't seem to have any chance of winning. It just seemed like you were trying to make the match go on forever and waste our time.
If you do try the spirit spam tactic again I suggest you make sure to position your rangers so they can actually attack the monk. You ended up walling yourself into your "spirit base" and I just stood outside the wall where you couldn't hit me.
Anyway, maybe it wasn't you that we fought last night but I think we were the only ones doing team arena.
-----
EDIT*
I just saw your screenshot over in the other thread. Pretty funny if you ask me. You should be aware that teams that bring massive spirits and wall themselves in tend to be griefers. This is especially true in 4v4 arena where the other team doesn't usually have the fire power to break through your spirit spam. What I mean by griefers is that they simply try to make the match take soooo long that the other team drops in disgust. It's obvious that that wasn't your intent but we'd had no way of knowing. Furthermore, if you do bring a build like that into 4v4 and use it in such a way almost EVERYONE not just iQ is gonna be a little peeved and assume you're trying to grief them.

Lol, yeah. When I first saw the original post, I thought, "but isn't [iQ] a little rude to everyone?"
But yeah if you were walling yourselves in to the little fort and sitting on your priest, I'd consider that griefing too Just like the run-ranger builds that make you chase them forever until you FINALLY manage to pindown/slow hex/knock them down and kill them. Which is why I don't really like 4v4 arenas anymore.

w00t another Whine post lol how many now? must be getting into the hundreds, i seriously think that you guys give us(ranger groups) a break, as its not as easy as you all think, we dont RELY on spirits trust me, there is much more effort and teamwork/hardowrk put into ranger teams then there is an Air ele/Smite group, we ranger groups are few and far between and we are having alot of trouble with these smiting groups being everywhere and i mean everywhere, its hard work and you guys ust dont understand, u think that we just put up spirits and we are invincible, i bet 9/10 times the complaints are not about the spirits just the general skills that we use and u havent realised. just give it a rest, i think everyone has had enough of whiners for the while

And what was their build? Spike? Smite? Both of those two common flavours die to fertile/natures. That's plain obvious. While rank 30 means alot, you have alot of Guilds that got up to the top through one trick pony strategies that even went to the top of the mountain on the first damn page. Where are they now? 70thish place? Lawlz.

I decided to give it a try on my monk. So we had 5 rangers, 3 monks. Caller was crappy and no one was even attacking the same target. A spike team attacked us and we managed to live, but we didnt kill anyone, and likewise for the other team. So 3 people left. So we are down to 5, and now another team attacks us. The monks are low on energy but we manage to hold. The other team got tired of doing nothing to us, so they attacked the spike team. Spike team killed them, and attacked us yet again. With 5 people we still held.....we didn't kill 1 person but we won. We won because they got so bored they left. I think the game was like 45 minutes long. It was hilarious.

There is a virus loose on these and many other forums.
It is caused by the replication of one thread topic into 90 billion matching threads. Solutions (cures) have thus far been nonexistent. The virus exists for the sole purpose of making copies of itself, and to spread the same screaming disagreements and dissention to the farthest corners of the electronic universe.
It must be stopped, for our race stands upon Hell's Precipice, awaiting the utter annhiliation of common sense and the ability to remain within the guidelines set forth by the operators of this wonderfully rich - yet very sickly infested - website.
*rolling eyes as the fever takes hold*
